First week evaluation

Primary: An example for this could be when we had graphics and Alan told us about Photoshop etc. 

Secondary: when doing the homework assignment over the I researched about the film that I was studying.

when doing graphics we did Photoshop and illustrator to develop our knowledge about different software's that we will be using during the course. also in the first week of the course we learnt how to the editing software which will be very helpful during the course.



2c Discuss any processes and methods you used (Photography wet process, Screen Printing, Photoshop layering etc): U1.1.1
we have used the process of photoshop layering which is when u place one image over the image and how to do this without damaging the photo this method is called non destructive editing.

How effective were you with this tool? The tool was easy enough to use and get the hang of. but when collecting the sound we figured that the tool picked up other sounds and interfered with the original noise we were trying to collect.


How could you improve your use of the tool? to try and discover more settings on the tool to try and get a cleaner and clearer sound.

using illustrator



Illustrator can be used for various things within the media industry for example producing advertisements such as posters or anything else to promote your film to the audience and the viewers. as a media student illustrator will come in handy for producing and getting my produced films out into the world. Today we were taught how to use the basics of illustrator for example creating an animated figure from a real person. I decided to choose matt Damon due to him having a detailed and simple face to begin with. Although we had a short amount of time to use this software I started to create the actor into an animation by firstly doing his eyes and then slowly working backwards. Eventually you will have a whole animated figure to then use as a template in a movie or posters. this can also help film makers understand what their characters will look like in standard form.

For today we did the start of the carousel and we did graphics. I have not done graphics for at least 3 years so it was a new thing to get my head around. the first thing that we did was taught how to use photoshop. we then went on and did practice using this soft ware to make sure that we were comfortable with the format, to do this we did the double exposure task meaning putting one image over the other. when doing this task we were told to keep the images non destructive which is when u mulipulte an image but do not erase anything. the task went well and by the end I felt like I progressed. the lesson also contained a tutorial about the different shortcut ways to do anything on a Mac to save time and help to edit, design, animate etc anything. for example in photoshop we were showed that command A selects all and how to get an image off google and paste it into photoshop.
